The Prada Group’s collection of brands, which includes @Prada, @MiuMiu, @Churchs, and @CarShoe, will no longer sell items made from kangaroo leather. The luxury fashion group recently confirmed the news to Italian animal rights organization @LAV_italia. Every year, between 1.5 million and 5 million kangaroos are killed for their meat and skin, according to @peta_australia. In banning k-leather, the Prada Group joins other fashion brands including @Versace, @DiadoraOfficial, @PaulSmith, @ChanelOfficial, and @hm. “We are really happy that more and more companies are putting a hand on their conscience and showing themselves sensitive to the protection of kangaroos,” LAV said in a statement. “Our commitment to new goals to save millions of kangaroos continues!” To learn more about Prada’s decision and about k-leather, click the link in bio.
